Esquina Porteña - Práctica de Tango and Class with Benjamin Galian

Tonight we are delighted to be joined by Benjamin Galian, who I am sure many of you will know, for a special class and practica. There is no no need to book, just turn up as we will swap partners during the class.

8pm - 9pm Special Class with Benjamin Galian in which we will focus on the importance of the embrace.
To enjoy Tango it is necessary to have a good connection with our partner. For this, the embrace has to be comfortable and allow us to move freely. This class will explore the construction of the embrace as a fundamental tool for good floor craft and circularity in social dance, and focus on how changes of directions and exact weight transfers can be generated by a harmonious connection through the embrace.

9pm - 11.30pm The class is is followed by opportunities to practise your dancing in a social setting to traditional tango music arranged in tandas with cortinas. This is the perfect opportunity for you to practise what you have learnt in the class, master new figures you may have recently learnt, develop your ronda skills, and to offer and give feedback. There is also a side room where you can continue to work on technical exercises if you wish. Benjamin will also be on hand during this time to offer guidance on any aspects of your dance you wish to receive advice about.

As always, there will be complementary light refreshments and free entry to our raffle. There's usually a bottle of wine open somewhere or you may wish to bring your own
