This milonga takes place in the gorgeous Regency dance hall at the heart of Royal . Leamingtion Spa. A venue designed for the enjoyment and elegant dancing which earned Leamington its “Royal” appellation. Our stars for the evening will be Ricardo Peixoto as DJ and Corina Piatti , “to dance, listen , or dream to”:
We'll enjoy the voice and guitar of Corina Piatti, a Santa Fe (Argentina)-born artist with an international career that combines tango, jazz, bossa nova, and more. With three albums released, she's been recognised with second place as best Latin vocalist in the UK (LUKAS Awards) and first place in Blues and Jazz on the European platform Show4Me. Corina is currently the vocalist for the string ensemble Tango 44 and also performs as a soloist and alongside prominent musicians.
This is the final milonga of Tango Warwick’s Tango Spa v12 festival. As Ricardo Peixoto says about Corina “Her voice can be as dainty as a fluffy cloud in the bright morning sky, then swell into a torrent of rain that carries everyone in the milonga—and she’s proven, time and again, that she can single-handedly make everyone dance.
Bring your last embraces and let Corina lift the room through tangos, valses, and milongas all the way to the final tanda.”
The DJ for this event has to be Ricardo Peixoto
himself, and we are very happy that it will be so. As well as international tango DJ, he together with Su Park were the founders of Tango Warwick.
He will work his magic around that of Corina Piatti. Her haunting singing breaking through the twilight, is reminiscent of the Iberian influences of tango, contrasting with the orchestral music. Dancing to her voice and guitar is bewitching; the the DJ’s craft in heightening this by setting their own spell is well honed by Ricardo’s experience. His choice typically combines mischievousness with lyricism and energy. It takes us to the last tanda before we know what is happening. Then all is over sadly and joyfully.
