"It ain't what you do, it's the way that you do it"
It's about The Art of Connection. More than just a physical act.
We all want our tango to be satisfying, yet how is it with all of our steps, technique and energy, we don't often achieve it? Could it be that something is missing? Are we treating connection like a mechanical process, devoid of art?
This day is an exploration of the Art of Connection. Discovering elements of connection that unlock fluent, exciting and delightful tango. It's about allowing your energy to flow, to restore and nourish your dance soul. We will be exploring through contemporary lenses in music and approach to tango. Expect challenge and openess.
It's also an opportunity to meet and connect with like minded souls!
The day is led by Mark McCormick & Diane Kerry. Their powerful workshops unlock new ways of thinking and being in your dance.
Lorenzo Salzano & Ganka Slavova host, and lead the first workshop. Their creative approach challenges and extends what we think we knew about dancing.
The day is in three parts
1 Three workshops that will challenge and move you, opening up new ways thinking of and experiencing your dance.
2 A communal meal to connect with friends old and new.
3 An evening dance where you can experiment with your new ideas in a supportive community. The music will be neo / alt / contemporary tango.
Other expressive and connected dance styles, such as blues, will find it equally valuable.
Spacious venue with wooden floor.
The day
11.15 Arrive and settle in, warm up dancing
11.45 Workshop 1 - "New beginnings"
If we think of a dance as a conversation, then what can we say to each other in a less restricted world?
Lorenzo & Ganka
13.00 Lunch - bring your own. We'll get out the table and chairs and say 'hello'
14.00 Workshop 2 "Elemental Textures"
How do we dance connected to our feelings and the music? It's not all about the steps - it's all in the steps, and feeling your connection with your partner. We will experience this through the elements of Earth, Air, Water, Fire, Time, & Space.
Diane & Mark
