In tango, the giro is more than a turn - it’s a language of rotation, power, and elegant control.

In tango, the giro is more than a turn - it’s a language of rotation, power, and elegant control. This 8-week Intermediate course is designed to deepen your understanding of giros in both parallel and cross-system, while integrating advanced elements like sacadas, patadas, and varied embrace styles.

Main Focus:
- Isolation and connection - separate the upper and lower body for precise control
- Continuity of torsion and rotation - lead and follow dynamics that flow
- Left and right giro from the back cross - in both parallel and cross-system
- Turning technique - understand system principles and execute effortlessly

Additional Explorations:

  • Octagonal, square, and triangular giro structures
  • Modern vs. milonguero-style turns – combine the best of both worlds
  • Giro with sacada on the open step
  • Giro with patada - style meets momentum
  • The leader’s axis and its impact on the turn
  • Molinete cadencia - rhythm, breath, and grace

If you’ve ever felt dizzy in the giro - or stuck with the same pattern - this is your invitation to master one of tango’s most essential tools and make it your own.
