Previous Description
Marcelo “El Chino” Gutiérrez teaches tango from the inside out - revealing the structure, mechanics, and musical intelligence behind every movement.
We are excited to welcome Marcelo “El Chino” Gutiérrez to Ultimate Tango for a special weekend dedicated to the structure, musicality, and mechanics of Argentine tango.
Known internationally for his clarity, depth, and grounded teaching style, Marcelo brings a unique perspective shaped by decades of study with legendary tango masters as well as formal training in ballet, choreography, and movement analysis. His workshops reveal how tango grows from simple elements - balance, weight changes, pivots, direction, and musical phrasing - and how understanding those elements transforms the way we dance.
Throughout the weekend, Marcelo will guide dancers through the mechanics, musicality, and structure that make tango come alive - from the power of the standing leg to the logic behind improvisation.
The program is designed as a progression: beginning with grounding and body mechanics, exploring musical phrasing and movement structure, and expanding into circular movement and the expressive power of the walk.
The weekend also includes a special Che Tango milonga with Marcelo as DJ, offering a chance to put these ideas directly into practice on the social floor. - [https://www.ultimatetango.com/che-tango-w-dj-marcelo-el...][1]
Join us for a weekend of learning, exploration, and dancing with one of today’s most thoughtful tango teachers.
