This is the class where tango starts to feel like a language you speak, not steps you memorize.

The molinete is the code of tango. Its mantra-like repetition — back, forward, side, back, side, forward, side — is the underlying structure beneath every step you'll ever dance. Once it's second nature, improvisation stops being intimidating and starts being fun.

Weight change, three directions on each leg, two pivots on each leg: that's the whole skeleton of tango. This series drills the precise direction, length, and pivot of every step until you can recite the mantra in your sleep — from any starting point, forward or backward.

Our real goal is connection: deciphering it, leading it, and following it more clearly and precisely than you thought possible.

What you'll learn:
• Open step versus cross step
• Leading a weight change versus a side step — and why it matters
• What happens when you replace a weight change with a side step
• Leading a continuous side step — is it even possible?
• Isolating the lead from the leader's own step
• Forward-Side-Back — the tango mantra
• Adding pivot to each direction
• Mixing directions freely — your first real taste of improvisation
✅ Some tango basics recommended (comfortable with the walk, cross, and pivots)
✅ Singles and couples both welcome
✅ Open to anyone 21 and older
