πŸ”₯ SPECIAL EXTENDED EDITION - RIO meets BAπŸ”₯

πŸ‘‰ pre-milonga class with Yuri & Kate πŸ’ƒπŸ”₯πŸ•Ί
πŸ‘‰ DJ Yuri 'Gaucho'🎢 with LIVE MUSIC CORTINAS by Clube do Choro Salisbury 🎢 Nicola (flute), Fernando (guitar), Yuri (percussion)

CHORO music, originated in Rio de Janeiro in the late 19th century, so it is pretty much contemporary of Tango. Just like Tango, it also sprang up from a mixture of European and African musical influences. At the origins, both genres were more similar to each other. As they evolved, they took different paths. Tango became the wonderful thing that what we all know. Choro, due to a stronger presence of the African element, developed into a music genre of unmistakable 'Brazilian swing', however retaining the sophistication and beauty of European music's harmony and melody.

The cultural exchange between Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires was more active than one may think. As early 1922 Choro musicians toured Buenos Aires led by Pixinguinha, who then became leader of the OVB (Oquestra Victor Brasileira πŸ˜‰). Curiously, early Choros and Maxixes were published with the title of 'Tangos Brasileiros'.

Polish your milonga moves! You will be able to use them in some of these cortinas πŸ•ΊπŸ’ƒ
